A draft of new California water usage regulations has been made public. Under the new regulation called “Making Conservation a California Way of Life,” some San Luis Obispo County could be required to cut their water usage by as much as 30 percent by 2035. According to the Tribune, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, and Paso Robles would need to reduce water use by between 1% and 4% by 2035. Atascadero would have to cut water usage by 30 percent by 2035 to meet new proposed state regulations. Atascadero City officials say they are already on track to meet the new water conservation numbers.
