Santa Maria Firefighters were on the picket line outside City Hall Tuesday. Officials with The Santa Maria Firefighters Association Local 2020 say they’ve been in contract negotiations for months. According to KSBY, The firefighters union is trying to slow the current turnover rate by ensuring comparable livable salaries to other first responders in the region.
