Some safety improvements are coming to Battles Road in Santa Maria. City officials say a mile-long stretch of Battles Road will be repaved, and a new pedestrian walkway will be installed. Better lighting will also be part of the 2.5 million dollar project. Funding is made possible through a Clean California grant and Measure A tax funds. The project should be completed by this summer.
