Governor Gavin Newsom has reversed the California Parole Board’s decision to release convicted killer Royce Casey. Casey is currently a life sentence for the murder of 15-year-old Elyse Pahler in 1995. Prosecutors said Casey and two other teens lured the Arroyo Grande High School freshman to a remote location, strangling her and stabbing her several times in a devil-worshiping ritual. Casey would later confess to the murder and lead authorities to her body on the Nipomo Mesa. This is the Second time he’s been denied parole.
