Thousands Crowd Neighborhood Streets In SLO

Thousands of revelers descended on a neighborhood near Cal Poly to celebrate St. Frattie’s Day this weekend. According to police estimates, between six and seven thousand people began filling the streets early Saturday morning. Police say they began receiving calls at around 3:30 A.M. Those calls led to several citations for noise violations, unruly gatherings, open containers, public urination, and public intoxication. Arrests were also made. Cal Poly officials say students and campus visitors also caused significant damage to Muir Hall and several other University Housing facilities.
