A Lompoc man found guilty of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated has been sentenced. Prosecutors say 32-tear-old Kyle Nelson, who was out on bail for a different case, was driving under the influence of marijuana when he tried to overtake slower traffic and veered into oncoming traffic. The subsequent head-on crash killed 19-year-olds Jenna Causby and Dorothy Guthrie. Nelson was sentenced to 12 years in state prison.
