Today’s the day the goats return to Paso Robles. According to a press release, a herd of goats and sheep will be grazing in the Salinas Riverbed. Fire officials say they have seen a significant reduction in the number of new fire starts since the goat program began in 2021. They add that the herd takes care of potential fire fuels with minimum impact on the riverbed ecosystem.
