People facing homelessness in Grover Beach will soon have a new shelter space. According to KSBY, “Balay Ko on Barca” will offer shelter space and vital services for those in need. It’ll be located off 4th Street, following in the footsteps of the successful “Cabins for Change” program. The new site will feature showers, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and single cabins. 5Cities Homeless Coalition officials say there’s already a a waitlist of 310 people.
