The City of Santa Maria has seen a dramatic drop in crime. That’s the word from an in-depth report by the Santa Maria P.D.. The report included crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. Since 2022, those crimes decreased overall by 28 percent. Between January and April of this year, those crimes had decreased by 30 percent. According to KSBY, The report also shows that when comparing January to April of 2022 to 2024, overall crime decreased by 46%.
