The San Luis Obispo County Probation Department broke ground on its new facility yesterday. The new 34,000-square-foot building will be near the intersection of Johnson Avenue and Bishop Street. Officials say the new building will meet operational needs, and accommodate future growth. It also replaces the probation department’s current office built in the 1940.
