Lompoc police arrested a 34-year-old man yesterday on suspected weapons violations. Detectives served a search and arrest warrant at the home of Luis Vela. Authorities believe he’s connected to a shooting last month. During the search, police found a sawed-off shotgun, rifle, and a homemade firearm known as a zip gun, and several rounds of ammunition.
