A bear was spotted roaming around Downtown San Luis Obispo yesterday morning. Police say they received several calls about a possible bear sighting near the intersection of Osos and Peach Streets at around 5:30 a.m.. Officers caught up with the bear in a backyard. California Department of Fish and Wildlife officers also responded. Officials say the 250-pound bear appeared to be healthy. It was eventually tranquilized and relocated to more suitable surroundings.
