Arroyo Grande and Pismo Beach residents will decode if their cities will hike sales taxes. The Arroyo Grande City Council unanimously voted recently to place a 1% sales tax increase on the ballot to raise six million dollars to maintain fire protection services, repair and pave roads, while ensuring 911 emergency response as top priorities. According to KSBY, residents are split on the idea. Meanwhile, Pismo Beach is considering a renewal of a measure that would include a half-cent sales tax increase that would help maintain emergency services and city infrastructure.
