A Santa Maria school principal will be keeping her job. Last week, Pioneer Valley High School principal Shanda Herrera was given a 45-day notice of possible termination. Following yesterday’s more than three hours long closed session, the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District school board released a statement that read, in part, “there is no reportable action” regarding Herrera, and she remains a district employee. It’s still unclear why Herrera was sent the notice of potential termination.
