The City of Santa Maria has a new budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. City officials faced a huge budget gap due to growing expenses, slow-growth tax revenues, and an increase in the cost of insurance. The 364 million dollar budget is expected to deplete General Fund reserves within the first year with service cuts expected in the near future.
