San Luis Obispo will be the home of the county’s first sobering center. The center is designed to help people under the influence of drugs or alcohol take the first steps toward recovery. The center is located at 2180 Johnson Avenue in San Luis Obispo, in the Health Agency Campus. It’s open 24 hours a day. People can stay up to three days to sober up and get cleaned up while deciding their next steps. Staff will also be able to provide referrals and links to services including mental health and substance use treatment and more.
