Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo was closed to the public yesterday afternoon. The closure followed reports of a man on a bench waving a gun. When officers arrived, they located 40-year-old James Michael Taylor still sitting on the bench with what appeared to be a firearm. Police say Taylor was cooperative and taken into custody without incident. A search of Taylor’s belongings revealed a pellet gun that resembled a handgun, a stun gun, and a throwing star. He’s now facing several weapons-related charges.
