Santa Maria Police investigators have arrested a 17-year-old male from Santa Maria in connection with the first homicide in the city this year. They also identified the victim as 27-year-old Miguel Pablo-Morelos. He and a 19-year-old were shot last Saturday night outside a home on North Benwiley Avenue. The 19-year-old is expected to survive his injuries. The suspect, who has known gang affiliations, was arrested without incident. The investigation is ongoing.
