Extreme heat and potentially windy conditions have fire departments up and down the Central Coast on high alert. Residents are being asked to be extremely cautious when celebrating outdoors. Only use safe and sane fireworks in communities that allow them. Minimize strenuous outdoor activities. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic liquids to keep hydrated, and find shade or a cool place to relax if you’re feeling overheated.
