SLO Man Arrested Following Standoff With Police

San Luis Obispo Police say a man is in custody following an hours-long standoff yesterday. The ordeal began Sunday evening with a report of a gunshot being fired in the area of the 1500 block of Madonna Road. No evidence of gunshots was found at the time. The next morning, an area resident reported a bullet hole in the trunk of their car. Further investigation led to 30-year-old Luis Barron. At around 5:15 yesterday, a neighbor called 911 saying Barron was banging on their door and window while holding a gun. Police responded with a SWAT team and negotiator. Barron barricaded himself in his apartment for the next six hours before surrendering to police.
