A 36-year-old murder case in Santa Maria has a suspect in Georgia. The Santa Barbara County D.A.’s office says 57-year-old Aloysius James has been charged with the 1988 first-degree murder of Ofelia Sandoval. The unwavering investigative work by Santa Maria detectives led to the arrest of James in Georgia in April. He pled not guilty to the murder charge. He’s being held without bail. He’s due back in court later this month.
