Central Coast Lake Closes To The Public

A mysterious fish die off has prompted a Central Coast lake to close. Monterey County Parks officials have closed Lake San Antonio to the public. Park rangers started noticing the die-off following the Fourth of July. Triple-digit heat and low oxygen levels were blamed, at the time, for the death of mostly bait fish. But, according to KSBY, when deeper-dwelling fish like carp, catfish, and bass also started washing up, officials knew they had a problem. They are hopeful to reopen soon.
