Lightning Strike Blamed For New Hurricane Fire

Lightning strikes are being blamed for a new Central Coast wildfire. The Hurricane Fire broke out Saturday morning. The flames quickly scorched thousands of acres in the Carizzo Plain National Monument before spreading into Kern County scorching close to 12,680 acres. Crews from The Bureau of Land Management, Cal Fire SLO, and Kern County are said to have the Hurricane Fire about 20 percent contained.
