Governor Gavin issued an executive order yesterday requiring state agencies to remove homeless encampments on state property. He also encouraged cities and counties to follow suit in their jurisdictions. San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County crews began a homeless encampment cleanup project yesterday. The Cleanup has been in the planning stage for months. According to KSBY, project coordinators say the goal is to return the riverbed to a clean and safe state and to help those transitioning to more secure housing situations.
