A domoic acid event is causing serious health issues for marine mammals across the Central Coast. In the last five days, 19 sick sea lions have been recovered by the Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute. If you spot a beached sea lion, officials recommend keeping a safe distance and notify authorities.
