The Santa Maria Police Department has identified last weekend’s homicide victim. Investigators say 35-year-old Jose Martinez Cruz was assaulted at a self-storage on North Preisker Lane Sunday night. Unfortunately, he would succumb to his injuries. 30-year-old Carlos Loyola was later arrested while driving the victim’s car. His bail was set at 2 million dollars.
