A former San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy is headed to prison. In November 2018, Joshua Fischer was on duty when he instructed a female inmate to exit her cell and enter an adjacent cell. According to the Department of Justice, an argument ensued, and Fischer grabbed her by the hair, pulling her to the ground. Fischer pled guilty on April 2nd. As part of a plea deal, he will not be able to apply for any law enforcement position in the future. He was sentenced yesterday to seven months in federal prison.
