A solo-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 227 took the life of an elderly man yesterday afternoon. CHP officials say the 76-year-old Grover Beach resident’s vehicle left the road near the Cold Canyon Landfill. The vehicle struck a tree and fence before rolling over on its side. The driver died at the scene. His 79-year-old passenger was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries. The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
