After more than a decade of planning and millions of dollars spent in planning, a “complete” Bob Jones may not become a reality. Yesterday the County Board of Supervisors voted to use eminent domain to acquire a sliver of land needed to complete a 4.5-mile connecting stretch of the trail. The property owner has declined all bids for the land. According to the Tribune, Supervisors Bruce Gibson, Dawn Ortiz-Legg, and Jimmy Paulding all voted in favor. Debbie Arnold was the one dissenting vote. The county now has five months to come up with a new plan or face losing more than 18 million dollars in state grant funding.
