The County of San Luis Obispo is sued for operating a county dam that allegedly harms several endangered species. Last month, four environmental groups filed a lawsuit claiming the county violated the U.S. Endangered Species Act by damaging steelhead trout habitat. According to the Tribune, the groups claim the county releases too little water to support steelhead migration to the ocean. The county dismissed the activists’ claims as “suspicion and conjecture.” Both parties will be in court on September 18th.
