It was a deadly weekend on Central Coast roadways. Late Saturday night, a 21-year-old driver from Santa Maria was trying to pass a slower vehicle on Highway 166. They tried to use a left turn lane, but it was occupied by a pickup truck. The pickup driver was killed. An infant and two others were injured. Yesterday morning, a wrong-way driver crashed into a pickup truck on the 101 north of Santa Maria Way. The driver, 34-year-old Kendra Cordova of Santa Maria, was arrested for DUI. The Driver of the pickup died. Yesterday afternoon, a 29-year-old Bakersfield man died after he lost control of his motorcycle on Highway 101 near Grover Beach.
