A driver involved in a three-car crash at a dangerous north county intersection fled the scene yesterday. At around 2:10 p.m., a Volkswagen Jetta, a white Ford Fiesta, and a blue Kia collided at the intersection of Wellsona Road and Highway 101. According to the CHP, the Kia fled with the Ford Fiesta following. SLO County Sheriff’s deputies caught up with the Kia a few minutes later. The Wellsona Road intersection has been the location of multiple fatal collisions in recent years.
