From field worker to farm owner. It’s a growing trend throughout California, including the Central Coast. According to the California Strawberry Commission, the number of Latinos leading the strawberry farming industry is growing. According to KSBY, Latinos make up more than ⅔ of strawberry growers in California and 25% of them started out as field workers.
