Santa Maria’s Bicycle Bob turned 100 over the weekend. Robert Mettauer is a WW II Navy veteran. He moved to Santa Maria in the 1980’s, taking up cycling in his free time. According to KSBY, by the time he turned 95, he had biked 100,000 miles. Members of the U.S. Navy stationed at Port Hueneme visited the celebration to present Bob with a commemorative coin and a flag for his service. His Daughter says he’s lived a good life, adding that he’s’ a good person.
