The redistricting of San Luis Obispo County will soon be in the hands of County residents. Over the weekend, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 977 which will result in the creation of an independent redistricting commission. The commission will be made up of county residents. Not elected officials, lobbyists, candidates, campaign donors, or family members. The Citizens Redistricting Commission bill goes into effect on January 1st.
