A vegetation fire broke out yesterday afternoon off Soda Lake Road in eastern San Luis Obispo County. Cal Fire SLO say the fire was first reported just before 1 p.m. south of Highway 58. By 2 o’clock the flames had scorched about 80 acres. Firefighters had the forward progress of the flames halted by 3:45. Officials say the fire burned more than 630 acres of mostly grassland. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
