Jury selection is underway in the case of a former Atascadero business owner charged with several sex crimes. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office began its investigation after a former San Luis Obispo woman posted her account on social media. She named Nathan Abate and Julian Contreras in her story. After that, several other women shared their similar incidents. Opening statements in Abate’s case will take place after the jury is seated. A search for Contreras is ongoing.
