Two SLO County fishing groups are taking the California Coastal Commission to court to block proposed offshore wind farm surveys. The Morro Bay Commercial Fishermen’s Organization and the Port San Luis Commercial Fisherman Association filed a petition last month. They claim the California Coastal Commission ignored the concerns of fishers and violated state law. The groups are worried the surveys could harm fish, disrupt marine habitats, and interfere with the local commercial industry. A hearing is scheduled for October 24th.
