Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s investigators have released new details about the custody-related death of a Santa Maria man that happened last month. 40-year-old Antonio Orozco booked into the Northern Branch Jail on a felony warrant and parole violation when he collapsed after a seizure, suffering a head injury. He was treated at the jail, then taken to Marian Regional Hospital for emergency surgery. Despite initial recovery, his condition worsened, and he passed away. The Coroner’s Bureau has ruled his death accidental.
