Santa Maria High School students recently got a hands-on learning experience at Cal Poly. Thirty Environmental Science and Biology students hiked Poly Canyon with a professor, collecting stream samples and learning about local species. They also toured science labs, including soil and food science labs, as part of Cal Poly’s “Learn by Doing” approach to education.
