Cal Fire crews responded to a brush fire in the San Maria River bed yesterday afternoon. Officials say the fire was first reported just before 4:30. By 5:30 the wind driven flames had scorched roughly 90 acres. Crews had the flames 60 percent contained by 8 o’clock. Cal Fire officials say the fire was 100 percent contained by 11:30. The total number of acres burned was revised to 80 acres. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
