Five kids in Atascadero had a very special birthday party over the weekend at the El Camino Homeless Shelter. According to KSBY, The Atascadero Police Foundation started the birthday parties for the kids at ECHO in January of this year and does them every two months. This Saturday, the kids ate cake, opened presents, and took turns blasting patrol vehicle sirens. ECHO officials say the bi-monthly birthday parties are a way to put smiles on the kids faces during tough times.
