Firefighters battled a vegetation fire along Highway 1 over the weekend. The fire broke out between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay on Gilardi Road on Saturday at around 12:20. Officials say the wind-driven fire had the potential of burning 150 acres. After attacking the blaze from the air and on the ground, crews had the flames contained by mid-afternoon. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
