Throughout the month of October, Morro Bay Police have been cracking down on the city’s leash law. Officials say keeping your dog on a leash helps prevent dog fights and unleashed dogs darting into traffic. They add the department receives calls about off-leash dogs on a daily basis. Dog owners caught walking their pets without a leash will be cited. The Morro Bay P.D.’s Leash Up It’s The Law Campaign wraps up next week.

The San Luis Obispo County AARP Tax-Aide program is looking for volunteers to help with free tax preparation for seniors and low-to-moderate income individuals. Positions include tax preparers, client facilitators, and call center help. No experience needed—training and IRS certification are provided. There are 75 volunteers so far, with nine sites across the county. The tax season starts February 1st.
