A traffic stop in Grover Beach Tuesday afternoon landed a man in jail and a ghost gun off the streets. Police say the occupant of the vehicle told 36-year-old Eric Covault by phone of the stop. When Covault arrived at the scene, he was detained. According to a press release, Covault has been known to possess illegal firearm components. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a ghost gun, a firearm silencer and a firearm with its serial number removed. A search of Covault’s home turned up evidence of more illegal firearm activity.
