Atascadero Police are warning residents of a phone scam. Police have received a number of reports of residents receiving calls from people claiming to be from the Atascadero P.D. The scammers use caller I.D. spoofing technology to make it appear the call is coming from the Police Department. Authorities say if you receive a suspicious call, hang up and call the Police to verify the call is legit.
