Health Department Installs NaloxBoxes To Curb Opioid Deaths

The San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Department has announced the arrival of its new Nalox-Box program. According to a press release, the program is meant to reduce opioid deaths throughout the county. Officials say 116 community members died from overdoses last year. They are hopeful the Nalox-Box program can reduce that number. 23 Nalox-Boxes were deployed across the county last month. They’re available in some parks, libraries, and county health centers. You can find a complete list of Nalox-Box location at SLO County.ca.gov.
