The City of San Luis Obispo has received a couple of grants from the California Office of Traffic and Safety. One of the grants is going to the City Fire Department. The 136,000 dollar grant will be used for new extrication equipment. The Police department also received 165,000 dollars in grant funding for its ongoing traffic and education programs. Both departments say the funding will go a long way to help improve public safety.
