As more families plan to travel this upcoming holiday season than in the past, gas prices have been coming down a bit. Travelers hitting the road will notice heavier traffic in some places. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is 3.06. The cheapest gas was found in Oklahoma at 2.57 a gallon. California has the highest price in the lower 48 at 4.45 a gallon. In San Luis Obispo County its averaging 4.74 a gallon and it’s 4.48 a gallon in Santa Barbara county.
