A Pismo Beach DUI traffic stop in 2022 is has landed a man in prison for attempted murder. Yesterday, a jury found 50-year-old Charles Ammons guilty of premeditated attempted murder of a peace officer with a gun and felony resisting a peace officer by use of force. Prosecutors say, In April 2022, Ammons had made an illegal turn. When the Pismo Beach police officer pulled up next to him, Ammons pulled a gun, pointed it at the officer’s head and pulled the trigger. The weapon didn’t fire because the ammo was not loaded properly.
